Nepal condemns terror attack in Afghan capital

Jan 28 2018 | 01:05 pm

Kathmandu: The Nepali government on Sunday strongly condemned Saturday’s ambulance bomb attack in the Afghan capital of Kabul, which left nearly 100 people dead and more than 160 others injured.

“At this hour of grief, the Government of Nepal extends heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the Government and people of Afghanistan as well as the bereaved families,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal said in a press statement on Sunday.

While wishing for early recovery of those injured, the Nepali government has expressed hope that the perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice soon.

Terrorists blew up an ambulance laden with explosives in central Kabul Saturday afternoon in the deadliest attack for months. The attack, claimed by the Taliban, followed an assault by Taliban militants on a luxury hotel in Kabul a week ago that killed 22 people.
