US-Bangla Airlines aircraft crash-lands at TIA

Kathmandu: An aircraft of US-Bangla Airlines has reportedly crash-landed at Nepal’s Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday afternoon, officials have confirmed.

TIA officials said the Bombardier Dash Q-400 aircraft belonging to US-Bangla crashed while landing at TIA air strip. The aircraft had flown from Bangladeshi capital Dhaka.

Reports coming in say that the aircraft caught fire immediately after landing and skidding off the runway. There is a huge plume of smoke coming from the crashed aircraft and firefighters and other rescue personnel have already started work.

The TIA has been closed following the incident. The conditions of the passengers are unknown and further details of the incident are awaited.

US-Bangla Airlines is a privately owned Bangladeshi airline headquartered in Dhaka.
