Kathmandu: Norchhok Boutique Hotel, a soon-to-open hotel in Lazimpat, Kathmandu, had a soft opening on the hotel premises with the theme “Love for Dolpa” on March 2, 2019. The hotel was inaugurated amidst a ceremony by Guru Ranag Tulku Rinchin Rinpoche (Dolpo Buddha).

Situated just 100 meters inside the main Lazimpat Road, it neighbours Hotel Radisson, Hotel Tibet and Hotel Manaslu.

According to Radeep Khadga, the General Manager of Norchhok, the hotel building is a renovated Rana-time house with 6 suites and 7 premium rooms. All the suites have private balcony and interconnecting rooms. A common rooftop terrace is spacious with plenty of sunlight all throughout the day. A common kitchen is also available if guests want to do some cooking whilst their stay at the hotel.  70% of the premises is covered by a beautiful garden with a luscious variety of flora. A restaurant serving international cuisine is available to in-house guests as well as to anyone else who would wish to come for lunch or dinner with sittings inside the antiquely designed dining room or in the open garden.

With the theme ‘Love for Dolpa’, Norchhok Boutique Hotel has been envisioned by Guru Ranag Tulkhu Rinchin Rinpoche (Dolpo Buddha). Dolpo Buddha is also the founder of Snowland Ranag Light of Education School which was founded in 2001, where all basic facilities are provided for the very needy and underprivileged children living around the rural areas of the Himalayan region of Nepal, especially from Dolpo. Students come to the school when they are around 4 – 6 years of age and only go back home for the first time after they finish their SLC when they are 16 -17 years of age.

A major part of the profit from Norchhok Boutique Hotel will go into supporting the school and other institutions with a vision to improve the quality of life of people living in the rural areas of the Himalayan region by educating their children, providing healthcare, supporting with travelling, developing infrastructure and empowering the local women.
