As a result, 60 percent hotels have lost business here. “The number of domestic and foreign tourists has sharply declined after the April 25 quake, resulting in dismal business in hotels,” said member of the Hotel Entrepreneurs’ Association, Bijay Jhunjhunwala.

Janakpur, the historical and religious city, is mostly (60 percent) visited by India tourists while the remaining from other countries.

According to Jhunjhunwala, more than three billion rupees have been invested in the hotel here.

The famous Janaki Temple and some other temples in the environs received partial damages in the quake.

However, the life here is crawling back to normalcy. RSS
